iPhone SE 2 is coming. Up until now numerous reports have detailed that Apple could launch successor to the iPhone SE in 2020. Now a new reports puts a timeline to its launch. The new report apart from talking about the iPhone SE 2 launch also details the time when the company would launch other devices, which includes a new iPad Pro, a new MacBook and AR Glasses.
According to a report by noted Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo, Apple could launch the iPhone SE 2 in the first quarter of 2020, presumably around the time of its spring event. This report is in line with Kuo’s previous report which suggested that the tech giant would launch the iPhone SE successor in 2020. It is also in line with a separate report by Nikkei which notes that Apple would launch the device in the spring of 2020.
Seprately, reports indicate that the iPhone SE 2 would come with the company’s latest A13 chipset and 3GB RAM. In terms of design, it is expected to come with a 4.7-inch LCD screen, which will enable the company to sell the device at incredibly low price, and feature a design that is similar to the iPhone 8. The iPhone SE successor is also likely to come with Touch ID than Face ID that has become a norm in Apple phones of lately.
Apart from the iPhone SE 2, Apple is also likely to launch new iPad Pro models with a rear-mounted 3D time-of-flight sensor in the first quarter of 2020, Kuo said in its reported, as noted by 9To5 Mac. The rear mounted 3D ToF sensor would be similar to the TrueDepth camera system available on the iPhones and allow the device to capture depth more accurately.
Apple is also likely to launch AR Glasses in 2020. However, Kuo notes that the company is likely to partner with third-party brands to launch the first generation of its AR Glasses which would mainly be driven by the CPU, GPU and network connectivity of a wirelessly connected iPhone.Beyond that there are no details available on Apple’s AR Glasses yet.
In addition to the AR Glasses, Apple is also likely to launch a new MacBook with the scissor keyboard in the second quarter of the year. It is not clear if the Apple analyst is talking about MacBook Pro, MacBook Air or a new line of Apple laptop. Earlier Kuo had said that Apple would launch a 16-inch MacBook Pro in 2019. However, with the device missing its fall deadline, it is possible that Apple could launch the device next year.
